Day 36 Searching for JUICE!!!

Christine here…had a very long business meeting today that began in the morning and lasted until the night with just one lunch break. Had to drink packaged grapefruit and orange juice for breakfast this morning. Since our lunch was pre-planned at a restaurant with several other people, Mary and I just drank water and a pineapple juice from the bar. It was torture to watch other people eating while sipping on water with lemon and pineapple juice! Luckily, someone in our group who had survived cancer many years ago using the Gerson therapy knew of a local vitamin shop that sells fresh carrot juice. Saved! So we bought 2 each and preserved one for later with some vitamin C powder and kept it in the fridge. Definitely not a pleasant feeling not knowing where your next juice is going to come from AND relying on others to help you get it. I have to say I feel surprisingly well though and I owe it to our first 34 days of juicing consistently and detoxing. Although it’s uncomfortable, my body has been handling the situation extremely well, and I’m still not hungry!

Day 34 Getting ready to fly!

Christine here…Today was a very busy day getting ready to fly. I feel good, a little stressed because it’s 1AM (really day 35) and we have to drive away at 4:45AM. I guess we will be sleeping on the plane! Did my elliptical machine today and a coffee enema at midnight. Wanted to get those in for the road! Went to the chiropractor who told me I feel “less dense” to him both physically and energetically. He also said I’ve inspired him to do some juicing, although he is already super healthy. I just love when our journey inspires others to do something really wonderful for themselves. It’s like paying it forward and it feels fantastic. I really appreciate all those who are commenting on our videos and offering us words of encouragement. People really are amazing! It really is human nature to connect. It feels wonderful. Thank you to those of you who live in Florida and have offered to help us get juice. We’ll definitely let you know! I’m just sorry we won’t have more time! Well I’m off to make a juice for the morning and then to bed. Cheerio and away we go (that’s really corny huh?).

Day 33 Sick and Wiped Out or Energized!

Christine here…Today I drank 5 juices for the first time. I feel fantastic today, much better than yesterday, although I had a hard time getting out of bed this morning. I have lots of energy, did my exercise and coffee enema, but with all this energy it’s tough getting to sleep! It’s now really day 34 because it’s almost 2AM!

Mary here… Totally different day for me. About 6pm-ish I became absolutely wiped out, in fact got nauseous and had to lie down. I couldn’t even finish my last juice. I became really chilled and literally passed out on the couch. As I’ve said before this process is a deep one. I think juicing for a week or so is easier, but you don’t really get the deep healing benefits that you do when you go much longer. I know my body is healing and really releasing junk from my entire life so far. The sickness I felt tonight was very deep. It felt like someone was pulling at my insides..a mild inner ache and then the nausea. The cough I had the last couple of days is practically all gone..another deep release of cell illness I had when I was much younger. The key word here is RELEASE, folks. You really have to be willing to let go of everything and just go for the ride of your life. On another level,I am experiencing the feeling of truly loving myself..my body may be resisting a bit, but it is somehow communicating a sense of gratefulness..sounds weird, but think about it..this is a process that returns your body, cells, blood, organs, everything to their original biochemistry. Why wouldn’t my body be thankful??

Day 32 Working and wiped out

Christine here…I’m pretty wiped out today. This is the first time that I have felt tired since we started juicing. It could be the late nights we have been keeping and we’re also working and preparing for our business trip to West Palm Beach on Thursday. I haven’t done my workout today or my coffee enema. Just too pooped. We still haven’t fit more than 4 juices into the day, we’re working on that. We have been drinking carrot/apple the past 2 days as our last juice in the evening and I like it because it’s a little sweet and pretty mild in flavor. Just came back from walking the dogs. Since it’s still early I think I’ll get a jump on my sleep tonight and go to bed.

Day 31 Halfway day celebration

Christine here…today we celebrated our halfway day (day 30) by juicing a green lemonade with our good friends Tim and Colleen. It felt great to find out that Colleen wants to jump on board and do the 60 day juice fast, even though she will be traveling the world for business most of the 60 days. As of today I have lost a total of 18 pounds and I feel fantastic. I am much more focused, I have consistent energy all day, my clothes are falling off me, I’m really loving the changes. Even though we ended up going to sleep at 4AM and getting up at 7:30 to hit the farmers’ market, I was able to get up no problem and had great energy all day long. I thought I would need to take a nap, but I didn’t need to.  I’m pretty tired now though and ready for sleep. Nighty night…

Day 30 Halfway through our 60 day juice fast!

Christine here…We’re officially past the halfway point. It’s 2:35AM on day 31! All is well today (yesterday), no hunger at all, no palpitations, no dizziness, LOTS and LOTS of energy (hence the ability to function at almost 3AM). We were going to have a halfway day party, but we had to work on a project all day. So tomorrow we will be spending the afternoon with our friends Tim and Colleen and sharing some juice with them. I have to say that getting past 30 days feels like a major hurtle to me. I think it’s best to look at the time left in one week increments, otherwise it still seems daunting. I saw a video with Joe Cross from FS&ND speaking at a Whole Foods and he said that even after the fast all he ate were fruits, veggies, beans, nuts and seeds. So it’s not like after the fast we go out and eat whatever we want (maybe we won’t want anything other than a raw plant based diet). This is becoming a real lifestyle shift. Even my cravings are changing to raw foods. I don’t even want the veggie broth anymore. I can’t wait to see what the next 30 days brings!

Mary Here… Although I’m relieved that 30 days have gone by already, I still feel like another 30 is a mountain to climb. I think it’s because I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather, with this cough and flu-like symptoms. I’m confident though that this is going to pass soon, especially with all the nutrients I’m putting into my body daily. It does feel terrific to put on clothes each day to find out they are too big. I haven’t had that experience since over 30 years ago, when I was down in weight to 118 pounds! There’s nothing that feels as good as having a lighter body. Just moving around is easier. On our nightly walks with the dogs, I don’t even feel like I’m exerting any energy! I used to feel knocked out after the walks. So the payoffs are really the best! I’m soooo looking forward to eating salads & veggies and beans..hmmmmm…

Day 29 Hair salon and exhaustion

Christine here…As we mentioned in our previous vlog, we went to the salon today to get our hair done. We did record a little video, but Mary isn’t feeling well so we’ll have to wait until tomorrow for her to edit and put it up. Part of the reason she may be feeling “wiped out” is that, because of our appointment today, we didn’t get our juices in as early as we usually do. It’s really amazing how that works. As long as you stay on top of that juicing schedule you feel pretty good. I myself feel fantastic today. I think my body is getting more used to the juicing on a deeper level. I do have some little bumps (didn’t want to call them zits!) around my hairline that I don’t usually have, which just proves that the detoxing continues! My skin continues to get softer and the weight is coming off consistently. Tomorrow is day 30, the halfway day! Yippeee! Not sure how we’re going to celebrate our halfway day yet, but we are going to share our total weight loss so far, with measurements and body fat percentages. Until tomorrow!

Day 28 Fruity Green Extravaganza

Mary here… Today was a great day. I slept 7 hours last night! It was the longest I’ve slept since we began this juice fast. These days seem to be just flying by. I don’t know where the time goes! So now, I seem to have this strange deep cough. I feel terrific, no sore throat, no other symptoms..God knows It’s simply not possible for me to be sick. I haven’t had this much nutrition in my body since I was born! I read somewhere that during one phase of the juice fast, you’re old injuries crop up. When I was growing up, I always had bad coughs..very deep ones. I also was a smoker at one point..was up to two packs a day. But I haven’t smoked in over twenty years. That’s what this cough feels like…as if I’ve been smoking. Could it be that there are dormant unhealthy cells still in my body, from smoking, that are now leaving my body?? It kind of makes sense. I was also developing arthritis in my hands for a couple of months before we began the fast, and the pain in my hands is nearly all gone. I really feel that the way to do this fast is to try to get through the 60 days. We’ve experienced many people telling us that they will try it for a few days. But it’s when you really get far into it, that you begin to experience specific things in your body. It’s really amazing how disconnected we are from our bodies. I’m having feelings I haven’t had for years and years. This is one wonderful journey, and it only gets better.

Christine here…I also feel that today was a great day. I started off with a commercial voice over recording session this morning. I love to work so that started the day off great for me. I also feel much better today than yesterday. I’m not sure what the heart palpitations were about yesterday. Perhaps it has something to do with the level of detoxing going on in my body. I’m sure I have plaque in my arteries, we all do, and this juice fast is working on disintegrating that plaque. I know that people have been cured of heart disease by juicing and eating a plant based diet, so something must be going on in there. I read in The China Study that there was a scientific study performed on 300 soldiers who were killed in the Korean war. At an average age of 22, none of them had ever been diagnosed with heart problems. After dissecting their hearts, researchers found that 77.3% of them had gross evidence of heart disease. These guys were 22 years old! This really proves that a diet of meat and dairy (the typical American diet) that most of us eat is literally killing us. The further I go on this juice fast, the more aware I am of the deep changes in my body. I am so appreciating the opportunity right now to reverse any damage that I’ve done. According to T. Colin Campbell, Dean Ornish, Caldwell Essylstein and others, it can all be reversed. Our bodies can be restored to their natural state of vibrant health, and with not too much effort. I’m so excited to be a living example of this. In two days we will be at the halfway point, and then the real deep cleansing begins!

Day 27 Green Lemonade

Mary Here… We made the following video on Day 14, and are just getting around to posting it. Christine shows how to make our green lemonade juice. This is Christine’s favorite juice.

Christine just got back from walking the dogs. She had called me from her walk because she was experiencing heart palpitations. We are wondering if it could be because she and we are not getting enough salt. Except for the celery, which we are not eating lots of, there is not much salt in these juices. I actually had the same problem with my heart palpitating a couple of days ago, while walking the dogs. Dr. Rogers had suggested that we both have electrocardiograms right when we starting juicing. I think maybe we should both make arrangements to do this ..like soon. I’m wondering if anyone else out there has had this issue while juicing??
Anyway, here’s our green lemonade..I’m going to take care of Christine and make sure she’s feeling better. I made her some miso  soup, as it is loaded with sodium..We’ll keep you all posted…
